One of the finest South Indian superstar is Mr Rajnikant whose original name is Shivaji Rao, he is basically from Karnataka (kannadiga). He is well recognised by all the famous people, politicians and famous personalities all around the world. Basically he is from a poor family and worked as a daily Coolie with daily wages, also he worked as a bus conductor in Karnataka Transport Corporation. 

Rajini'S close friend helped him with small amount to come Chennai, Tamil Nadu. There he joined Pune film Institute which gave him a new lease of life for future glowing actor. He's one of the finest 'stylish living Hero' all around the world even now. 

Funny way he entered the cine field. But the top most heroes where whitish skin, colourful people. He is the one and only black among many.   He climbed up only with this speaking Tamil very fast and Stylish talent of smoking cigarette and also wearing a coolers and specs in a stylish way.

When he reached Tamilnadu Chennai there is no place to stay even, So he stayed most of the times only on the platform bench on trying cinema line,  where people used walks beside in platform had noticed him many times. 

He also got insulted and  got kicked off from Many rich persons like producers, famous film directors and also even from makeup man, telling his face is not apt or good for makeup,  asked him to wind up from the shooting sets. 

A film buff since his boyhood, Rajnikanth moved to Madras (now Chennai) in the early 1970s to join the Madras Film Institute, where he trained as an actor. He made his debut in 1975, playing a minor role in Katha Sangama, a film directed by Kannada director Puttanna Kanagal. That same year he achieved a major breakthrough when he was offered the role of a villain in K. Balachander’s Tamil-language film Apoorva Raagangal.

Actors with Rajini experiance with same age has attained grandfather and retired in every level.  But still even after attaing age of 70, even now he acting same as evergreen Hero now,  only with great patience, meditation, sincere contribution and dedication. 

Now most expected film of him is going to hit this coming deevali- 'Annathae'.

A philanthropist, he undertook a day-long fast in 2002 to protest the Government of Karnataka's decision to not release Kaveri River water into Tamil Nadu, and donated ?10 million (US$140,000) toward a plan to interlink Indian rivers.
